One of six designs raising money for art therapy in Leith.
No, it’s not too soon. Christmas card brochures are already coming through the letter box but here’s a local charity well worth supporting. Multi-Cultural Family Base (MCFB) has set up a social enterprise selling cards to fund some of their vital work with vulnerable families in Leith.
Perhaps you remember that earlier this year MCFB announced a range of enterprising activities to keep funds flowing during this age of austerity (See Cut or Run) . Now, as Becky Robertson MCFB office manager explains, the sale of Christmas cards will help to raise money for their Art Therapy project. “It provides much needed support to some of the severely traumatised children, young people and families that we work with.” she writes in an email, “In keeping with the Art Therapy theme, we have decided to produce a range of Art Cards to sell, with any profit made returned directly to MCFB.”
Cards, using images donated by artistic supporters of MCFB, are printed on a high quality card from sustainable managed forests. And they are fantastically good value at £3 for a packet of four cards (see another image on the right). Becky reminds us that to guarantee a November delivery Christmas cards orders will need to be received by Monday, 5 October. But the cards are not just for Christmas… ” as this will be an ongoing enterprise orders are welcome at any time.”
You can order cards (and get more information) from Multi-Cultural Family Base website.
