Get your dancing shoes on

A text from Alice gets the day off to a good start.  “Get ur dancing shoes on,” she says, “an cu on Saturday”. So what’s happening Saturday?  Good food and great music for the Special Yendu at Tollcross Community Centre on the 23rd September from 7pm till midnight.

Alice Musamba is one of the talented cooks in World Kitchen in Leith so when she recommends the menu you can trust it will be good.  Yendu is Senagalese for family gathering and the evening is organised by Edinburgh Senegalese Society with a feast of traditional recipes and veggie food “an believe me u don’t want to miss that.”

Also on the programme, great music.  From Mali, DJ Gaoussou Koyta will hit the decks with the latest West African and world music, followed by Wassyla, Sylvain Ayite and Akon Mamadou Ndoye whose latest single is due out soon. Plus Diwan playing their first album Remind Me.

Kids under 16 get in free and tickets for adults are just £10.  To reserve a place contact Antoinette on 07722 510 482 or Karim on 07812 444 896.

And don’t forget the shoes.
